Laboratory medicine: Confirming diagnoses and supporting treatments – quickly, efficiently and correctly.

Flow Cytometry and Quantitative Microscopy

Analysis of individual cells and creation of microscopic images

Cytometric methods have become an integral part of haematological and immunological routine diagnostics. In addition, they play an important role in the qualification of blood and stem cell preparations. Due to the complexity of the methodology, quality assurance does not yet meet modern requirements in all aspects. The working group has therefore set itself the goal of making a contribution to improving the quality assurance of cytometric methods.

The main focus points are:

  • Further development of reference methods
  • Definition of requirements for reference and control materials
  • Preparation of the introduction of interlaboratory surveys

The working group cooperates closely on all points with the Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt (PTB)
