The German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine awards the Felix Hoppe-Seyler Prize for special scientific achievements and merits in the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
The prize is usually awarded every 3 years at the annual conference of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. The award is presented by the President or Vice President of the German Society of Clinical Chemistry.
The prize is awarded to individuals, groups of individuals or working groups who have rendered outstanding services to clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. Outstanding research results, the development and implementation of pioneering concepts or a special commitment to education, are regarded as merits worthy of an award. The prize may not be split.
The call for nominees is announced nationally. Applications should be addressed to the Executive Committee of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. Members of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e.V. can submit nominations. The proposal shall be accompanied by a detailed recommendation.
The decision on the award is made by a voting committee composed as follows:
(1) two members of the DGKL Executive Committee, one of whom shall act as chairman of the committee, and
(2) three DGKL members appointed by the DGKL Executive Committee.
