Gábor-Szász-Prize

In memory of Gábor-Szász, the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. awards the Gábor-Szász Prize for outstanding work in the field of clinical chemistry and pathobiochemistry.

 

Reward

€ 15.000,--.

If the prize is awarded to several winners at the same time, the reward will be divided. The amount of the respective partial sum will be determined by the jury. It shall not fall below the amount of € 5 000.

 

Award ceremony

The prize is usually awarded every three years at the annual conference of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. The award is presented by the President of the German Society of Clinical Chemistry or a representative. Each laureate is then required to report on the most important results of his or her work.

 

Laureates

The prize is awarded to persons who have published one or more outstanding papers in the field of clinical chemistry and/or pathobiochemistry in the 2 calendar years preceding the year of the award.
Several prize winners may be awarded.

 

Nomination

The call for nominees is announced nationally.
Each member of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. can submit a nominee. The proposal shall be accompanied by a detailed recommendation.


 

Voting committee

The decision on the award is made by a voting committee composed as follows:
– two members of the DGKL executive committee, one of whom chairs the committee
– three DGKL members appointed by the DGKL executive committee

The judges shall make use of at least two independent experts.

 

The awarding of the prize takes place without possibility of recourse.
