Scherer-Medal

The Scherer Medal is awarded by the executive committee of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine e. V. The bronze commemorative coin was created by the sculptor Gerhard Marcks, who during his lifetime was closely associated with the Berlin Secession and the Deutscher Werkbund and also with an anti-academic attitude.

The prize is awarded to individuals for outstanding services to scientific development and the promotion of clinical chemistry.
